I am on a second hand (jailbroken) iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.1 and baseband BB 04.12.01 and unfortunately locked to Vodafone DE.

According to some forum threads, the unlock by Vodafone in Germany costs about 100 euros. Should that be the case, I have no intention to invest more money in it.
Is there any way this can be solved in the future? Will Ultrasn0w is expected to release anything? Any suggestions would be appreciated. :helpsmilie:

Sorry, but an unlock for your iPhone 4 doesn't exist. Nobody knows(expect the hacker) if in the future is a way to unlock or not. But at the moment: no.

No, this is not possible. You can unlock the iPhone after 24 month. This is the only way....
You can't unlock your baseband.

And Downgrade too.

does the lock go for the sim or the carrier?
here is an idea, what if I just swap the phone with my boyfriend's that has vodafone? would his vodafone card work with that device? thank you all for your replies
