HOW TO JAILBREAK/ACTIVATE A 1.1.2 OTB (Bootloader 4.6) and USE IT WITH TURBOSIM

STEP 1 - DOWNGRADE YOUR 1.1.2 OTB to 1.1.1
1. download 1.1.1 firmware here:

2. start iPhone in recovery mode: press both, sleep and home button for 10 seconds, as soon as the display turns black, release the sleep button but still hold the home button for another 10 seconds
3. connect the iPhone to your Mac and start iTunes 7.5; iTunes will report that it found an iPhone in recovery mode; press the restore button WHILE holding the ALT-key; in the upcoming filechooser just choose the 1.1.1-firmware-file (iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw) you just downloaded; iTunes will now downgrade the iPhone to 1.1.1 (which may take a while) and then report the errorcode 1015, which is not important and can be dismissed.
4. shut down iTunes

STEP 2 - JAILBREAK and ACTIVATION
iTunes 7.4.2 users, download this, mount it and move iNdependence.app to your desktop, then go to STEP 2/5

iTunes 7.5 users who want to go all the way start at STEP 2/1
1. download iNdependence (V1.3Beta for iTunes 7.5) here:

2. mount the image and copy iNdependence.app and iNdependence MobDev Tool.app to your desktop
3. download and unpack MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework here:

(maybe in the domainname there is a _ which needs to be removed....)
4. start the iNdependence MobDev Tool.app, it will put up an Alert, hit OK, it will then ask you to locate the MobileDevice framework Folder, choose the MobileDevice_7_4_2_framework FOLDER, hit Open, then choose the iNdependence.app and hit OK; the app will move the framework to where it belongs
5. start iNdependence and just wait until the iPhone will start normally / showing the activation screen (meaning iNdependence will have helped with bringing the iPhone out of the recovery mode)

STEP 3 - PREPARING and INSTALLING THE TURBOSIM
1. on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General -> Auto Lock -> Never
2. connect your iPhone to your WLAN (keep in mind or write down the IP your iPhone will have in your WLAN)
3. on your iPhone, start the Installer and install the following: BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH / OctoPrep
4. download and unpack these files:

5. download and open Cyberduck (if you don´t have it already) here:

6. with Cyberduck connect to your iPhone; Protocol: SFTP / Server: your iPhones´ IP (see above) / Username: root / Password: alpine
7. use Cyberduck to copy the file "applesaft.trb" (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /private/var/root
8. use Cyberduck to copy all OTHER files (except "applesaft.trb") (from the folder turbosim_rev2) to the iPhone-folder /bin
9. mark the copied files in the folder /bin, right-click Info and give them 0755-rights
10. use Cyberduck to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (from ComCenter_Disabled/Disabled) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
11. restart your iPhone
12. cut out both SIMs, the original one supplied with the phone and your own, so they will fit perfectly into the TurboSim - do it carefully!
13. put the original SIM supplied with the iPhone (not your own!) into the TurboSim and carefully insert it into your iPhone
14. start the Terminal and type: "ssh -l root xxx.xxx.xx.xx" - (with xxx.xxx.xx.xx of course being your iPhones´ IP) - and hit Enter; if Terminal asks if you really want to connect, just type "yes" and hit Enter
15. Terminal should ask for the root-password, which is "alpine" - so type "alpine" and hit Enter
16. type "turbo-info" and hit Enter - some numbers should appear followed by an "OK"
17. type "turbo-app /private/var/root/applesaft.trb" - so the file you copied to that location via SFTP will now be executed; after that an "OK" should appear
18. rename the file "com.apple.CommCenter Kopie.plist" (on your harddrive) to "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (so without " Kopie", which is just the german word for copy) so that the name is identical with the one in the "disabled"-subfolder
19. use Cyberduck to copy the file "com.apple.CommCenter.plist" (the one you just renamed) to the iPhone-folder /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ - so the original file will be there again (and not the "disabled" one)
20. restart your iPhone
21. on your iPhone go to Settings -> Phone -> SIM Applications -> Apple Saft -> Set
22. remove TurboSim and original SIM from the iPhone (carefully!)
23. replace the original SIM with your own and put TurboSIM and your own SIM back into the iPhone (carefully!)
24. restart your iPhone
Your iPhone should now be fully operational, BUT calls and SMS still won´t be possible as no carrier will be found,
so you will have to proceed to STEP 4 and upgrade to 1.1.2 again...

STEP 4 - UPGRADE TO FIRMWARE 1.1.2 again and JAILBREAK and ACTIVATE again
1. start iTunes, it should prompt if you wish to update to Firmware 1.1.2. just do so; this may take a while
2. shut down iTunes
3. download and unpack this:

4. open "jailbreak.jar" and wait til the process is finished, iPhone will reboot twice during this
Your iPhone should now be fully functional with FW 1.1.2 on it

Some hints:
--------------
- IF after using the "turbo-info" command in Terminal NO numbers and NO "OK" appear but THIS ouput :"/dev/tty.baseband: Resource",
-> this will mean that you FORGOT to replace the original CommCenter-file with the "disabled" one (see STEP 3/10) OR copied a WRONG
CommCenter-file to that folder. Also take care about STEP 3/18 which states that the "original" file must be named to match the "disabled" one.

- IF your phone won´t receive any calls but instead just displays a rotating cycle-icon and/or
- IF you aren´t able to just dial a number (but only to choose a contact from the contactlist and dial THAT way) and/or
- IF the phone just returns to the mainscreen when you go to Phone -> Keypad and then enter the first digit......
-> here is the solution: you are in a not supported country.
Supported countries (by November/07) are: US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and China
You should run Tweaks 1.1.2/iWorld from the AppTapp Installer, that should solve the problem.

- IF you wish you can remove all the files you uploaded to /bin (see STEP 3/8) once the TurboSIM is programmed and working.

- IF YouTube won´t work on your iPhone, please do this:
-> on your iPhone go to Installer/Sources, add and go to this link: http://iphone.surrealnetworks.com/repo
then go to Install/Surreal Networks and select "You Tube Fix (3 files)", install it, restart your iPhone and YouTube should be working.
