Aber beim iPhone ist es ja eigentlich auch so. Klar geht man da eher vom Portraitmode aus, aber sobald man es kippt, braucht man auch die volle Breite im Landscape-Modus.
Somit ist das ideale Hintergrundbild eigentlich quadratisch.
