GoodReader-Problem
#1

          GoodReader USB – Fatal Error
          Module:        iPhone.cpp
          Line:             1090

Weiß jemand, was der Hinweis bedeutet?

Hallo Leute,

Hi there,

Sorry about the trouble! Unfortunately, we can confirm that iOS 13 prevents our GoodReaderUSB file transfer tool from functioning. Though we developed the GoodReaderUSB transfer tool, it only works because of Apple's iTunes File Sharing functionality. USB transfer to any Apple mobile device is dependent upon Apple's support of that process—which is still possible using Apple software, but no longer through GoodReaderUSB due to changes on Apple's end.

We're looking into the issue to see if there's anything we can do about it on our end, but we can't offer any assurance of that.

In addition, the most recent MacOS version and PC operating systems may only support 64-bit applications. GoodReaderUSB is a 32-bit application, and currently we have no plans to develop a 64-bit version.

Currently, when running iOS 13 or later, the only way to transfer files between GoodReader and a computer via USB is to use the Apple USB Transfer process described here: https://support.apple.com/HT201301.

If you're using a Mac running MacOS "Catalina", you'll find Apple's instructions for that operating system here: https://support.apple.com/HT210598

Some specifics for Windows PCs can be found here: https://support.apple.com/guide/iTunes/t...windows/10

After connecting your device to your computer with the USB/Lightning cable that comes with it, you may see a message asking you to "trust" and allow access to manage the device from the computer—choose to allow that. You may also be informed that an update is required to manage files on your device—if so, perform that update.

Once that update is complete, you should see either iTunes or the Apple Music application launch (Apple has discontinued iTunes, so whether or not you have access to iTunes or Apple Music program depends on your computer operating system).

As described here: https://support.apple.com/HT201301 click the icon for your device (iPad or iPhone) at the top of the window, then click "File Sharing" on the left. Find the GoodReader app icon in the File Sharing list and click to select GoodReader.

You can then drag files from the File Sharing window and drop them on your computer desktop to transfer them to the computer, or from the desktop into that window to transfer a file to GoodReader.

In general, the future of USB transfer is uncertain. Even Apple's USB file sharing instructions first suggest you try a wireless transfer process instead of USB. This implies discouraged use of USB transfer, and may indicate that it will eventually support will be completely phased out in the near future—however, that's only our speculation. We don't know for sure.

Regardless, now may be a good time to start regularly using a wireless transfer process instead.

For transferring large amounts of data, try using GoodReader's "ZIP" feature to create a ZIP file of a large folder of data, which will make it smaller and easier to transfer as a single file.

If you're using a Mac, you can transfer files using Apple's AirDrop feature: https://support.apple.com/HT203106

To send a file from GoodReader to a computer or other iOS device using AirDrop, first tap and hold on a file in GoodReader's My Documents list to select it, then tap the "Open in..." button on the right side of the screen. There, you'll see the AirDrop option.

There are several WiFi transfer options described on our WiFi File Transfer guide here: http://www.goodreader.com/gr-man-tr-wifi.html. "Easy Transfer" uses a web browser on your computer. "Professional Transfer" is a general option that is also known as "Network Drive Mapping", as described by Microsoft here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...work-drive

If you have SMB File Sharing enabled on your computer, and your computer supports "Bonjour" protocol, GoodReader can discover the computer on your WiFi network.

On a PC, check your Windows documentation to confirm you've enabled SMB file sharing, and that the user account you're logged in to has Read & Write permissions, as well as checking that permissions settings on the folders you want to access are also "Read & Write" enabled.

On a Mac, open System Preferences -> Sharing
Check the box next to "File Sharing" if you haven't already
Select File sharing and click the Options button
Check the box for "Shared files and folders using SMB"
Check any appropriate Account names in the list under "Windows File Sharing"
Back on the main Sharing window, make sure the User name that you're logged in to has Read & Write privileges

In GoodReader:
• Tap Connect at the bottom of the main screen
• Tap Find Servers
• Available servers on your WiFi network will appear in a list
• Tap the Pushpin button next to your computer's name with "SMB" in the list to add it as a server in the Saved Servers list. You may need to log in with our computer user name at that point to complete the connection process.
• Tap Saved Servers, then tap the server icon (representing your computer) to view a list of accessible files on that computer.

To download from the server to GoodReader:
• Tap the server icon
• Browse available folders and files on the server file list
• Select a file, folder or multiple items to download (tap the arrow key to the right of the folder to browse within a folder)
• Tap Download, select the destination folder to download to, then tap "Download Here"
• While downloading, the number of downloads in progress will appear under "Active Downloads"
• Tap the Eject button in the top right corner to exit that server connection (active downloads will continue in the background)
• You can find files you just downloaded under "Recent Downloads", or go back to the My Documents list.

To upload files from GoodReader to a server:
• Tap the server icon
• Tap Upload
• Your GoodReader file list will appear
• Tap to select one or more files or folders, then tap the Upload items button

An alternative way to upload:
• From GoodReader's My Documents list, select a file
• Tap Upload at the bottom of the screen
• Select a server from the Upload to list
• Tap Upload items

To sync a file or folder:
• Tap the server icon
• Select a file or a folder. When you do that, a Sync button will appear at the bottom of the window.
• Tap the Sync button. A window will pop up allowing you to choose where within GoodReader to download the file or folder to.
• Navigate a destination, then tap "Download Here & Synchronize".
• A Sync Parameters window will appear. Choose your options, then tap "Sync" in the top right corner of the window.
• The file or folder will download to GoodReader and will be synchronized when complete—you'll see a small green sync symbol on the corner of the file or folder icon, indicating it's synchronized.

From that point on, tap the Sync button at the bottom of GoodReader's main screen to update/sync all files and folders.

If you've set up multiple synchronized files and folders, and want to sync (update) just one, tap Connect, select "Sync Records", then tap the sync button on the sync record you want to update.

Lastly, you may want to consider using a popular server such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive to transfer your files. Upload files to a server from your computer, then download them from that server to GoodReader, and vice versa.

Here are the steps:

To connect to popular online servers like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, SugarSync and Box.com:
• Tap Connect at the bottom of the main screen
• Tap Saved Servers
• Tap the + (plus) symbol to add a new server
• Select a server type from the options that appear
• Enter a Readable Title—this can be anything that you'd like to name this server connection.
• A server icon will appear in the Saved Servers list

The next steps will vary depending on the type of server

• Tap the server icon to log in to your account (only necessary the first time you create a server connection)
• In most cases, you'll be redirected to a web interface to log in to your account with your user name and password.
• Once you've logged in, a window will appear showing your available files and folders on that server

To download files to GoodReader from a server:

• Tap the server icon
• Browse available folders and files on the server file list
• Select a file, folder or multiple items to download (tap the arrow key to the right of the folder to browse within a folder)
• Tap Download, select the destination folder to download to, then tap "Download Here"
• While downloading, the number of downloads in progress will appear under "Active Downloads"
• Tap the Eject button in the top right corner to exit that server connection (active downloads will continue in the background)
• You can find files you just downloaded under "Recent Downloads", or go back to the My Documents list.

From that point on, the process of Uploading to a server, Downloading from a server, or synchronizing with the server, are similar to the steps described above for local SMB server connections.

I hope this information helps!

Best regards,

-Robert

Hm ok,

mich ängstigt die Aussage, dass die App nicht auf 64bit angepasst werden soll.
Damit ist ein End of Live absehbar.
Apple wird diese Apps irgendwann einfach rauswerfen (meine persönliche Meinung)
