mein eigenes ist zwar unlocked, aber es interssiert mich dennoch, da in meiner bekanntschaft noch ein paar usa phones demnächst dazukommen.

is das immer nur so ein gerate, wenn du die 1.1.1 hats, dann ...

weil es gibt ja 1.1.2 oob mit altem und/oder neuem bootloader.


kann das bitte jemand kurz erläutern?

Well here a quick guide on how to check if you have an iphone that is unlockable or not.

iPhones ship with a Firmware like 1.0.2, 1.1.1 or 1.1.2

but they also ship with a bootloader which is similar to the BIOS on a computer the newest version shipping right now is 4.6 which is currently not unlockable. All iphones with firmware 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 shipped with bootloader version 3.9.

iPhones that shipped with firmware verison 1.1.2 will most likely be bootloader 4.6 but it's better to check to see if it can be unlocked or not.

Before you can check the bootloader you need to downgrade your iphone to 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 using iTunes and option restore mode, then activate and jailbreak the phone.

Install open ssh, bsd and community sources

download a secpack, version not relevent

use cyberduck or equivalent ssh program to put the file bbupdater into the location /usr/bin/ on your iphone, you do not need to move any other files from the secpack onto the phone for this check

now using terminal log into the iphone were "xxx" are the numbers of the wifi IP address of your iphone

ssh root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

password: dottie

now cd into the correct directory

cd /usr/bin/

now run bbupdater

bbupdater -v

the output will tell you the baseline and the bootloader of your iphone. And looks like this...

Resetting target...
pinging the baseband...
issuing +xgendata...
firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_04.02.13_G
eep version: EEP_VERSION:208
eep revision: EEP_REVISION:1
bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:4.6_M3S2

Das funktioniert allerdings in dieser weise nur beim Mac, beim Windows soll man ähnliche Pogramme verwenden.

Im IRC hab ich gehört, dass bei dem neuen Bootloader auf der Verpackung was anders sein soll. Irgendwas mit nem Globus und nem Apfel. Frag mich bloss nicht was genau....

wenn das stimmt wäre es interessant genaueres darüber zu erfahren (..in sachen verpackung meine ich) ein bekannter fliegt in 2 tagen rüber und bringt ein paar mit.....er wird versuchen noch ein paar "alte" zu bekommen. wenn die mit dem neuen bootloader tatsächlich eine andere verpackung haben würd ich das liebend gerne wissen!
