27. war der release für die Appstore entwicklet, das die ihre Programme da in den Store stellen können usw. aber nicht für die Firmware für die "normalen" Kunden!

Video: Japanese Text Entry System In Action

TokyoMango has posted a video demonstrating the new Japanese language input system for the upcoming 2.0 software that Steve mentioned at the keynote.
It appears from the video that it's running in the iPhone SDK simulator.



TokyoMango notes:

* You can choose from two kinds of keyboards—the standard QWERTY keyboard and a Japanese cell phone-style keypad.
* Fully implemented predictive text.
* The ability to write a character on-screen and have it instantly recognized is not Japan-ready...yet.
* Option to chose between multi-tap kana keyboard or sliding keyboard. Japanese kana letters are organized in groups of five according to a beginning letter
and corresponding vowels (a, i, u, e, o) and tap that key from 1 to 5 times get the right sound, or you can put the first letter in and then tap and slide
through to see all five sounds and pick the right one.

Inside Look At 2.0 Firmware, iTunes 7.7



There was a rumor going around last week that Apple was finishing up version 2.0 of the iPhone software,
and that a special version of iTunes 7.7 would be needed to install it. Jesus Diaz over at Gizmodo has managed to get his hands on it,
and has taken a few screenshots to confirm some rumors.

According to Jesus, the latest release of the 2.0 software runs fine, and he claims to notice a speed increase with application performance.
He did notice that the parental controls didn't stop him from visiting some x-rated websites in Safari, but everything else seems to work well enough.

iTunes 7.7 was more telling than the 2.0 software. In the Preferences he found a section for MobileMe, but it's not active.
There's a new applications tab in the iPhone control panel, but there's nothing in the App Store yet, so there's not much there.
There were also a few other changes to the preferences, like having it automatically check for downloads, age restrictions for games,
and most interestingly, "look for iPhone and iPod touch remotes."



This definitely confirms the rumors.
