Kann Die FW 2.0 auch einfach unlocked werden? Ist da schon was bekannt?

Es ist noch nichts bekannt und es wird auch nichts neues geben bis die coder die finale Ausgabe der Firmware 2.0 auf ihrem Pc/Mac haben

Also... einfach abwarten mehr kann man im Moment einfach nicht machen und alles andere ist reine Spekulation!

na ja für die Firmware müssen wir noch warten. Das finde ich schade. Sonst für das alt gegen neu, das denke ich nicht. Wir haben schon ein iPhone (teuer gekauft) und ein Vertrag wie für mich noch für 20 Monaten. Wir sind für t-Mobile nicht mehr interessant.

Ich bin mir ganz sicher, dass es schon bald ein besseres SMS-Programm geben wird, welches auch endlich die
MMS-Funktion einführen wird. Wird sicherlich eines der ersten Programme sein, welche für das Iphone entwickelt
werden. Auf jeden Fall warte ich sehnlichst darauf.

2.0 Firmware To Have Secure Erase

Sources using the latest beta build of the unreleased iPhone 2.0 firmware say that it was recently updated with additional security features.
While both versions of the iPhone currently have an "Erase All Contents and Settings" option, it is now known that firmware v1.x
(the public software) only does a regular deletion of the information stored on the device. In the 2.0 firmware,
sources say that this option will mimic the "Secure Empty Trash" deletion in Mac OS X.

The new deletion method implemented should be greatly more secure. While normal deletion just deletes the files, v2.0 deletes the files, unlinks them, and overwrites the affected memory sectors several times, ensuring that it cannot be recovered. This should prevent anyone from recovering a previous owner's data, like we saw earlier.

Although it does ensure that private information can never be recovered by the wrong person, it does take much longer to do.
The new feature is said to take a whole hour.

It is possible that the new more secure "Erase iPhone" feature is made to compliment the remote wipe option they announced at WWDC
in order to make the iPhone more appealing to businesses and their IT departments. It will also be made available at a time
when many people will most likely be preparing to sell or swap their iPhone in preparation for the iPhone 3G.

iPhone 2.0 Golden Master Could Be Complete By This Friday



According to a sources inside the Cupertino's iPhone software development effort, it is "highly probable" that the iPhone 2.0 Golden Master
will be done this Friday. The final version could arrive to developer hands two weeks before the introduction of the new iPhone 3G
and well in time for the promised July 11 release to the public. Update: for some reason, this morning I saw the original "end of June"
release date and copy and pasted that as the release date link, rather than the obvious July 11. My apologies. J.

The iPhone 2.0 operating system Golden Master will follow the release of build 345, which has seen the activation of two code-signing
and encryption features not previously available.

Keep in mind that this date is tentative, even if the source remarked that "this is the plan." Meanwhile,
the iPhone Dev Team has confirmed they are working hard cracking the latest build, getting ready for the pwnage of the final release.
Also, remember that releasing a Golden Master internally or to developers doesn't mean releasing it to the general public.
As announced publicly during WWDC, Apple will make the update available in July.

Confirmed: 2.0 Software To Launch July 11

Despite earlier reports that the iPhone 2.0 firmware would be releasing early, it was recently found in Apple's iPhone 3G press release
that July 11th is the official date of the 2.0 software launch. This date corresponds with what many suspected,
as well as the date that was found earlier this month in the code of Apple's tool for submitting applications to the App Store.

iPhone 2.0 software will be available on July 11 as a free software update via iTunes 7.7 or later for all iPhone customers
