Apple stellt Entwicklung von iPhoto und Aperture ein

Neben dem neuen OS X und dem neuen iOS stellte Apple auf der WWDC 2014 auch die neue Fotos App für OS X vor. Die Anwendung wird erst Anfang 2015 erscheinen, aber bereits jetzt hat Apple dem Branchenmagazin Loopinsight mitgeteilt, die Entwicklung sowohl von iPhoto als auch von Aperture einzustellen. iPhoto gehörte zur iLife Suite und war kostenlos erhältlich, für Aperture war eine Zahlung in Höhe von ungefähr 70 € von Nöten.

Auf Loopinsight heißt es:

“With the introduction of the new Photos app and iCloud Photo Library, enabling you to safely store all of your photos in iCloud and access them from anywhere, there will be no new development of Aperture,” said Apple in a statement provided to The Loop. “When Photos for OS X ships next year, users will be able to migrate their existing Aperture libraries to Photos for OS.”
